Meet Us Jeff Kanaly

When you have the opportunity in life to work for the family business, some may ask…why did you join? I’d have to say, I joined because I quickly understood and appreciated how my father built a company on trust, honesty and integrity and most importantly believed in giving back to the community. 

This past year, I took on the challenge of riding in the MS 150. I made the MS 150’s 300 Club as one of the top 300 fundraisers, but was most proud of being a part of the ride for the cause. 

The Multiple Sclerosis Society is an organization that is close to my heart and it is important to me to find ways to support its efforts. I also currently work with my family on building the fund that my father created at University of Texas supporting research on Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease.   

When I’m not hitting the pavement, I’m dedicating time to several public and professional committees. I am a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the Houston Chapter of the FPA, the Houston Estate and Financial Forum, the Association of Independent Trust Companies (AITCO), and an Honoree at Houston Northwest American Heart Association.

Over the years, I have held numerous leadership positions within these organizations in an effort to stay ahead of the latest trends in the industry and share my experiences and knowledge with others. 

Such growth opportunities are key to my role as Vice Chairman of Kanaly Trust Company. I am also Chairman of the Board of The Kanaly Company, the holding company for Kanaly Trust Company.

I joined Kanaly in May of 1978, just 5 days after I graduated from college and three years after the company was founded. I have essentially grown with the company, so I know first-hand the positive impact that we have made in the lives of our clients over the years.
