Meet Us Drew Kanaly

Drew is chairman of the board and CEO of Kanaly Trust Company. In addition to this leadership position, he also continues to oversee a client service team. As an account officer, Drew manages the on-going investment strategies and personal financial programs of 110 family relationships. This entails the administration of trust, estate and investment accounts. Drew directs the development and administration of personal and family trust accounts including charitable trust, private charitable foundations, family limited partnerships, revocable living, testamentary, IRA and IRA Rollover accounts, along with estate administration. He specializes in investment management, charitable trusts, and family limited partnerships. The personal financial program also includes any other client-specific financial needs as they arise throughout a lifetime.

Drew joined Kanaly in 1983 and has more than 26 years of experience in trust and investments.

Since earning his BBA in Finance from the University of Houston, Drew has attended the American Bankers Association’s National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University; the Texas Bankers Association Regional Trust School at Southern Methodist University; and earned a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation.

Drew is chair of the Medical School Advisory Council, University of Texas Medical School at Houston and also serves on the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Development Board. He is co-chair of the Alzheimer’s Association Advisory Board for the Houston and Southeast Texas Chapters, is a Doorkeepers Trustee of the Open Door Mission and serves on the board for LACEP, the Latin American Collaborative Education Project. He formerly served on the board of the Gladney Fund Ft. Worth, Texas and is past president of the Texas Ex-Students’ Association of the University of Texas-Houston Chapter.

Drew regularly offers commentary on CNBC programs such as The Call, Power Lunch and Squawk on the Street. He has also appeared as a guest on FOX Business News as well as Bloomberg Television’s On the Markets and Open Exchange, on which he served as the hour-long show’s featured guest. In addition, Drew has been featured on Bloomberg Radio, Marketwatch.com, CNNMoney.com, Forbes.com, and in multiple print publications including SmartMoney and the Houston Business Journal. Drew has been named to the FIVE STAR: Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager list for 2009, published in the September, 2009 issue of Texas Monthly.
